The VC-focused career accelerator offers unique hands-on experience

Alumni Venture’s Venture Fellow Program (VFP) is a unique career accelerator and experience offering a revolutionary on-ramp to a career in venture capital (VC). As a part of the program’s curriculum, Fellows are brought in to support AV’s Alumni Funds and Focused Funds.

The VFP’s mission is to provide world-class professional development and hands-on learning opportunities in venture capital. The program serves as an in-depth introduction to VC careers and entrepreneurship for early and mid-career professionals each year. In addition, a core part of the VFP’s mission is to increase opportunities for underrepresented groups in VC, promoting gender, racial, and ethnic diversity in the industry.

Since its creation in 2014, the VFP has helped introduce over 500 alumni to the world of VC. Of these alumni, about 40% ultimately transition to a career in VC, entrepreneurship, or a related field. Over ~80% of these fellows come from underrepresented backgrounds. Five graduates of the program currently work at Alumni Ventures.

2022 was a banner year for the program, featuring the VFP’s largest cohort, with 82 fellows admitted to the program. For the program’s 2023 cohort, which begins in January, the Venture Fellow Program plans to bring on ~40 fellows of diverse backgrounds. Fellows will learn through the program’s 12-month, structured educational curriculum while engaging in hands-on experience alongside AV’s various fund teams.

For candidates looking to join the program, no VC experience is required. Alumni Ventures is now accepting applications for our January 2023 cohort through October 16, 2022. Applicants can apply to the program here.
